Alve Lorena "Polly" Nickens was the ninth child of Henry Valma Nickens and Laura Lucinda Moore. She was born 17Sep,1911 at Hope Villa, Ascension Parish, La. Her father nicknamed her "Polly" because she was so talkative. On 28Jun, 1934 Polly married Harrison Barnard Shaver . He was the son of William and Lou Ann Shaver. Harrison was born at Drytown, Franklin County, Ark. on 24Jan, 1913 His family moved to Coushatta, Red River Parish before the 1930 census. Harrison died 20Mar, 1989 and is buried at Springville Cemetery, Coushatta, La. Polly is living.
