Donnie Wessie Nickens was the seventh child of George Thomas Nickens and Julia Celestine Thompson. He was born 06 Jun, 1916 in Ascension Parish, La. Donnie married Vadis Mae Dixon 15 May, 1937 in Ascension Parish. She was the daughter of Millard Dixon and Vessie Woods. Vadis was born in Ascension Parish, La. on 27 Oct, 1918 at Galvez, Ascension Parish, La. Vadis died 25 Jun, 2009. Donnie Wessie and Vadis donated their bodies to science.
